Orioles rally twice, beat Tigers 11-10 (AP)

Two improbable comebacks produced one extremely uplifting victory for the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles trailed by six runs in the first inning and entered the ninth down by one.

Tigers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Manager Jim Leyland is coming up with a platoon arrangement of sorts to let him squeeze three players into two spots in his batting order. Leyland must juggle outfielders Marcus Thames and Matt Joyce with designated hitter Gary Sheffield to see if he can get the most out of all three. Thames and Joyce may evolve into a kind of platoon arrangement in left with Thames playing against lefties and Joyce facing right-handers. Sheffield would DH—except when he doesn't. In those cases, Thames or Joyce would DH. An odd man out in this arrangement is first baseman Jeff Larish, expected to be optioned back to Toledo on Monday when right-hander Zach Miner is brought up to join the Detroit rotation. Playing time will depend to some degree upon production...

Scott backed up those words Friday night, hitting two home runs to lead the Orioles past the Detroit Tigers 7-4.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland was shopping for clothes in New York during the All-Star break when someone he described only as a...
