Phillies Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

The team charter had not yet landed Thursday night in Florida when the news landed in Adam Eaton's lap. The Phillies had traded for right-handed pitcher Joe Blanton.

On Friday, Eaton learned how the move will affect him.

Eaton, struggling once again for the Phillies, has been moved to the bullpen. Manager Charlie Manuel and pitching coach Rich Dubee, who traveled separately to Miami from their Florida homes after the All-Star break, broke the news to Eaton.

"Anything to help the team," Eaton said. "I'd like to be a starter, don't get me wrong. But it's not up to me. But I'm on one of the best teams in the big leagues. We're going to win this thing. Whenever they want to give me the ball in whichever situation, I'll be ready."

Against junkballer Jamie Moyer, those home run swings the Florida Marlins like to take produced mostly feeble grounders and popups. Again. The 45-year-old left-hander beat Florida for the 10th time in as many career starts, pitching six innings Friday night to help the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-2 victory.

Philadelphia Phillies' Shane Victorino, right, is congratulated by third base coach Steve Smith after Victorino hit a solo home run against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fifth inning of a baseball game Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Philadelphia. Arizona won 10-4.

Randy Johnson liked the results of his fourth-inning at-bat. How he felt about his technique, well, that's another matter. Johnson helped secure his 290th victory with a two-run double to start an eight-run fourth inning, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies 10-4 Saturday. "Watching me hit and run is like watching Manute Bol shoot a 3-pointer; it's not a pleasant sight,"...

Philadelphia Phillies' Ryan Howard runs down the third base line after hitting a solo home run off of St. Louis Cardinals' Kyle McClellan in the eighth inning of a baseball game Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in Philadelphia. The Phillies won 4-2.

Ryan Howard faced an 0-2 count in a tie game and was one unenviable pitch from adding to his league-high strikeout total. Instead, the slugging lefty's swing put himself into share of the home run lead. Howard homered leading off the eighth inning and Philadelphia's sputtering offense showed small signs of breaking loose in a 4-2 win over the St.
