Nets Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Around the Nets, the focus is on the future. There is rampant speculation that moves were made with an eye on the 2010 free agent class, led by one LeBron James, who happens to be buddies with Jay Z, who happens to be an adviser/partial owner for the Nets. But 2010 is a touch down the road. What about 2008-09, for example? The leading scorer from last season was traded away. Experience is not a strongpoint. Refer to the Clinton Administration and about half the players might say, "Hillary was president once?" Nets introduce Yi, Simmons (AP)
The New Jersey Nets' acquisition of Yi Jianlian was strictly a basketball decision, not a marketing one aimed at drawing more Chinese fans, Nets owner Bruce Ratner said Wednesday.
