Phew. It's official: The Wizards got their point guard.

OK, no, not Gilbert Arenas, although he signed a six-year, $111 million deal.

The point guard news July 11 was that the Wizards would be getting two-year pro Dee Brown, a restricted free agent who became free to leave the Jazz after Utah elected not to match Washington's two-year, partially guaranteed offer.

Brown, who starred at the University of Illinois, contributed 94 points and 83 assists to Utah's 2006-07 season as a rookie. He opted to play professionally in Turkey last season, although the Jazz thought enough of him to make him a qualifying offer, meaning they retained the right to match another NBA team's free agent offer.
