The Colts may be without one of their starting outside linebackers when training camp begins July 24 at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind.

Strong-side linebacker Tyjuan Hagler, who has battled a variety of injuries since arriving in Indianapolis as a fifth-round draft choice in 2005, reportedly suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights last week. Hagler is expected to miss most—if not all—of training camp and could be sidelined for nearly two months.

The injury will probably also keep the former University of Cincinnati standout on the sideline for the team's regular-season home opener Sept. 9 against the Chicago Bears. Team officials have yet to confirm or deny the injury or its possible ramifications.

The grass in the Mannings' front yard took years to recover. Archie Manning used to stand on the steps and try to fling the football just out of his sons' reach in a game they called "Amazing Catches." The boys would have to make diving, one-handed grabs. Ex-Colts player Reid spared jail time (AP)

Former Indianapolis Colts defensive back Dexter Reid had his driver's license suspended six months for a felony drug conviction. Circuit Judge Thomas Padrick Jr. on Wednesday also ordered Reid to attend drug treatment. The 27-year-old Reid had faced up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in January to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Colts trade RB Lawton for draft pick (AP)

Colts reserve running back Luke Lawton was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional 2009 draft choice. Lawton played in 11 games last season at running back and special teams. Manning looks for ways to stay healthy (AP)

Peyton Manning spent the past decade building a reputation as one of the NFL's most dependable quarterbacks. He wants to keep that image intact however long he plays.
